Verdant Relay

About us

Built for teams that have outgrown ad hoc cloud decisions

Verdant Relay Systems was created for a specific kind of organization: one whose cloud grew faster than its practices, whose engineers are capable but stretched, and whose leaders need dependable platforms without hiring a bloated consultancy to get them.

We are deliberately compact. Six specialists, each deep in a discipline, working as one pod with your team. No bench of juniors billed at senior rates, no account managers between you and the people doing the work. When you engage us, you get the engineers whose names are on this page.

We serve growth-stage companies preparing for scale, enterprises modernizing legacy estates, and regulated organizations in healthcare, financial services, and logistics that need platforms which satisfy auditors and engineers at the same time.

Our principles

Four commitments that shape every design review, every handover, and every engagement we accept.

Clarity over complexity

Every architecture decision is written down with its rationale. If a design cannot be explained to the team that will operate it, it is not finished.

Enablement over dependency

We build with your engineers, not for them. Our engagements are designed so your team owns the platform completely when we leave.

Measurable operations

Provisioning time, deployment frequency, recovery time, cost per service. We set baselines, instrument the platform, and improve against real numbers.

Responsible engineering

Secure defaults, documented runbooks, sustainable on-call. We do not ship platforms that only their authors can operate.

The team

Six specialists, grouped by discipline

We organize by what people build, not by who reports to whom. Every engagement draws on the disciplines it needs.

Strategy and Delivery

Professional portrait of Maya Bennett, Platform Strategy at Verdant Relay Systems

Maya Bennett

Platform Strategy

Maya spent a decade as an engineering director before turning to platform work full time. She leads our assessments and roadmaps, translating messy estates into sequenced plans that executives and engineers both trust. She is known for asking "who will operate this in two years?" before approving any design.

Owen Park

Delivery Operations

Owen keeps engagements honest. He structures our pods, manages scope and handovers, and makes sure knowledge transfer happens continuously rather than in a final-week scramble. Before joining, he ran delivery for a 200-engineer SaaS organization through two platform migrations.

Infrastructure and Reliability

Daniel Ortiz

Cloud Infrastructure Engineering

Daniel designs the landing zones, networks, and IaC modules that our foundations are built on. He has run production infrastructure on AWS and Azure for financial and logistics clients, and he writes Terraform the way others write prose — reviewed, tested, and meant to be read.

Priya Nair

Reliability and Observability

Priya is a former SRE lead who has carried the pager through enough 3 a.m. incidents to design alerting that respects human attention. She defines SLOs with product teams, rebuilds telemetry around shared schemas, and coaches on-call rotations toward sustainable practice.

Developer Experience and Governance

Ethan Caldwell

Developer Experience

Ethan builds the golden paths, service templates, and internal portals that make good practice the easy practice. A former backend engineer turned platform builder, he measures success by how quickly a new hire ships their first service — and pairs with teams until the answer is "this morning."

Simone Harper

Cloud Security and Governance

Simone turns compliance from a scramble into a report. She implements policy-as-code, evidence automation, and cost governance for regulated clients in healthcare and financial services, and she has sat on both sides of the audit table — which is why her controls are built to produce evidence continuously.
